This course is for under 1 year olds and runs over a period of 4 weeks. It promotes bonding between parents and their children. It also helps with difficulties such as colic, constipation and sleep patterns. As with all of our sessions, it also provides parents with the opportunity to meet other parents and carers.

Each 4 week course will be held alternatley between Tuebrook Children’s Centre & West Derby Children’s Centre.

The next course is starting 7th November 2017. This will be at our Tuebrook site.

Tuesday 10.30am – 11.30am

Places on the Baby massage course are very popular so booking is required.

Parents can come along for specialist advice on breastfeeding and bottle feeding from Liverpool Community BAMBIS Champions.

Refreshments will be available, older siblings are also welcome.

Why not take a book home from our Children’s Library available to lend anytime from our reception area?

Parent/Carer Lending Library:

A range of books available including pregnancy, parenting, breastfeeding support, childhood development and behaviour including sleep and nutrition. Available at all times from the reception area.

A fun and active session run BY Grandparents FOR Grandparents and their Grandchildren.
Come and meet other grandparents and watch your grandchildren play and socialise with other children.

  • Healthy Start Vitamin Tablets & Vitamin Drops – Bring along your red book or vouchers to Tuebrook or West Derby centre and receive vitamin tablets for yourself and vitamin drops for your children.

 

  • Sensory Room – Enjoy play in a very calm & relaxing environment. Allowing Children of all ages and abilities to use their senses and explore.  Induction required, Contact Tuebrook or West Derby Centre to book.

 

 

  • Children’s Book Lending Library – A wide range of children’s books available for parents’ to encourage children’s learning & love of reading.

 

  • Early Access Ante Natal Booking Clinic Tuesdays & Wednesdays 9.00-3.00pm. By appointment only (Held at Tuebrook Centre, organised by The Women’s Hospital)

 

  • Toy Library – Join our library and your child can try out a variety of resources including story sacks.

For a calming and safe environment where babies and young children feel comfortable, ready to learn and explore the world around them via their senses.
The use of the Sensory Room can have the following benefits for children:

  • Children can achieve a sense of ‘cause and effect’ by using switches attached to lights and toys.

 

  • The Sensory room provides an interactive experience between adults and children and between children and other children. Activities can be used to promote turn-taking and communication.

 

  • The Sensory room is designed to be a calming environment in which children feel comfortable and therefore ready to learn.

 

  • The Sensory room experience can be used to add extra meaning to a story, rhymes and songs.

 

  • The Sensory equipment provides stimulation for babies and young children who are exploring the world around them via their senses.

 

  • The calming environment is a place for parents and carers to bond with their children.

 

  • Relaxation is good for children’s emotional health; it gives them a chance to explore their feelings in a safe environment.
